What we do
The Association is run entirely for the benefit of the member organisations. Everything that we do is designed to be of tangible benefit to members, and member representatives are engaged at every stage of delivery. There are three key areas of engagement:
The Programme of Events is devised each year in response to suggestions from members. Typically an annual programme would include a number of in-depth seminars, evening meetings, dinners, project site visits and a residential conference. There are no additional charges for most these events and members can send any number of delegates.
Our Continuing Professional Development Programme aims to provide opportunities for people at different points in their career to learn more about the particular challenges of working on major projects.
Rising Stars Seminars – Find out more about our 2 day seminars aimed at people who are fairly new to major projects.
Major Projects Simulator – A computerised simulation in which participants face many of the universal challenges of major projects and are required to make key decisions.
The Challenge of Major Projects – Our highly renowned one week programme for senior individuals.
As well as sharing experience and ideas we believe that capturing and Sharing Knowledge in an accessible format is vital in order to learn from mistakes and improve performance.
Seminar Reports – We record all of our seminars and produce easy access pdf summaries and detailed reports which are available on our website following the event.
This collection of seminar reports has developed into a fascinating library of major projects' best practice which is available to members only via our website.
