THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO NON MEMBERS
Project 13 is the Infrastructure Client Group’s ambitious attempt to bring together the construction sector to articulate and implement a future model for infrastructure development that replaces the current disjointed, short-term, transactional working arrangements with an enterprise model, based on relationships, enlightened collaboration for the benefit of UK Plc.
How is this initiative unfolding? What are the early lessons and how are these reflected in the industry’s adoption of new technology and new ways of working, such as offsite manufacture and design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA).
Jo Lucas, editor of the Major Projects Knowledge Hub digital scrapbook on DfMA, interviews Mark Enzer, Chief Technical Officer at Mott MacDonald and one of the workstream leads in Project 13.
During the interview, Jo will invite Mark to:
• explain the premise behind Project 13 and offer an overview of the early lessons learned
• explore how Project 13 is tackling the gap between the potential of new technology and the rates of industry adoption;
• outline how successful Project 13 has been in engaging the construction supply chain beyond the usual Tier One suspects and how the Project is challenging the powerful ‘status quo’ pressures within the industry
• describe the kinds of skills, capabilities and organisational disruption that will be fundamental to achieving the kind of transformation required, for example: design thinking, digital modelling, entrepreneurship, engagement and communication.
At the end of the 30-40 minutes of one-to-one interview, the invited live audience in the Bentley Systems Academy and the extended web-audience, will be invited to offer their own questions, observations and challenges to Jo and Mark.
