We’re pleased to announce that South East Water has joined the Major Projects Association as a new member. We asked Catherine Street, Communications and Engagement Manager at South East Water, to tell us more about the organisation and why it has joined the Association.
South East Water – who we are?
South East Water is a socially and environmentally responsible company which provides top quality drinking water to 2.4 million customers across the south east of England.
To ensure a safe, secure and resilient supply today and for generations to come, we are investing £1.9 billion over the next five years (2025–2030) to transform and improve how we deliver drinking water.
Our Major Projects team is designing and delivering strategic infrastructure via the Regulators’ Alliance for Progressing Infrastructure Development (RAPID) framework. At the heart of this is Broad Oak Water, a proposed new reservoir near Canterbury, currently in its early design stages. This scheme is the first in a suite of major, long-term infrastructure projects designed to secure regional water supplies and unlock lasting benefits for communities and the environment.
What we’re hoping to gain from membership of the Major Projects Association
Joining the Major Projects Association reflects our commitment to cross-sector collaboration and industry-wide knowledge sharing. The membership will allow us to absorb global project best practice, develop and promote our talent, and reinforce our core vision to benefit our communities and the environment, now and in the future.
