Frances Griffiths

Current Responsibilities

Frances Griffiths is the Facades Manager for Laing O’Rourke on the Clarges Estate, a £150 million high end residential and commercial development for British Land in Mayfair, London. She has responsibility for the delivery of the offsite manufactured precast concrete and bespoke glazing packages including the design coordination, installation, quality, programme, reporting and interfaces with other trades.

Laing O’Rourke is a privately owned, internationally focussed engineering enterprise with world-class capabilities and revenue of approximately £4bn.

Past Experience

Frances was selected for the Laing O’Rourke Scholarship programme in 2011 following her participation in a “Constructionarium” event with University. Whilst sponsored, she undertook two, two month placements as a site Engineer on the £900m Manchester Metro Link Project where she developed her setting out and management skills.

In 2013, she completed her Masters in Civil Engineering (International Programme) from University College London, which included a year abroad at the University of Toronto. Upon graduating, she was selected for a place on the Laing O’Rourke Graduate Development Programme and worked as a Site Engineer on the Leadenhall Building (The “Cheesegrater”) where she was responsible for the management and planning of subcontractor finishing works for five floors.

In May 2014, she was promoted to Section Engineer on the Clarges Estate where she managed a range of construction activities from piling works, construction of concrete and steel frames through to her current role as Facades Manager.
