Mentoring can be a very powerful tool in career development for anyone working in major projects. The process requires a well-chosen mentor; this is a relationship that works both ways and both mentor and mentee should benefit from the interaction. It also requires clear objectives in terms of what you plan to get out of the relationship.
The Major Projects Association mentoring scheme is designed to support key decision makers (for example: project sponsors, senior responsible officers, project or programme directors) in member bodies, facing challenges in particularly large, complex or innovative projects. At this stage of the scheme we cannot facilitate mentoring for more junior staff.
Contacts will be handled in confidence through the Association’s Executive Staff. The Association’s role is to make an introduction between the decision maker expressing the need of advice and the Executive team’s view of fit from those we know are prepared to help.
