Buckingham Palace Reservicing Programme: NAO Value for Money Audit

This National Audit Office report examines progress on the £369 million, 10-year Buckingham Palace Reservicing programme . Launched in 2017 and funded through a temporary uplift to the Sovereign Grant, the programme is replacing ageing building services while keeping the Palace operational as a working royal residence and major public venue.

The report explores how the programme has been set up, how it has responded to external shocks and delivery challenges, and what risks remain as it moves into its final phase. It considers governance, funding, delivery performance and the management of benefits in a complex heritage environment.

With a significant proportion of funding and work scheduled for the final years, the report provides a timely assessment of progress to date and the issues that will shape delivery through to completion in 2027.
