Summary

This paper, published in the ICE Journal Engineering Sustainability provides a description of the scope of Crossrail, the importance of defining sustainability in the project’s strategy, how sustainability has been built into the delivery of the project, the governance structure employed and how performance is measured. Examples are provided of some of the key enablers and tools used on the project.
