Habitat protection during the Games

Summary

Biodiversity is one of the five priority themes that make up the London 2012 Sustainability Plan. Habitat protection was of critical importance in ensuring continued and enhanced biodiversity. This case study sets out the approach the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) took to habitat protection and enhancement across a range of venues, and focuses particularly on work done at Box Hill, Hadleigh Farm, the Olympic Park, Weymouth and Portland and in Richmond Park.
