Ofwat’s Final Climate Change Principles

Ofwat’s Final Climate Change Principles were published following consultation on a 2025 discussion paper and engagement with regulators, companies, and environmental groups.

Informed by stakeholder feedback and aligned with wider water sector reforms, the final principles provide a flexible framework to guide how water companies respond to climate change.

The principles are intended to support the sector in delivering resilient, sustainable services while meeting government targets and maintaining public confidence.
