Summary
The design of surface water drainage outfalls was a challenging task due to the number of constraints, such as restricted discharge velocity, ecological considerations, cost efficiency and aesthetics. The final innovative solution provided was not just a set of buried drainage pipes, but also included energy dissipations, debris collection and environment enhancement.
