We’re pleased to welcome CPCS as a new member of the Major Projects Association. We asked them to introduce their work in infrastructure and major transportation projects, what they hope to gain from membership, and the expertise and practical experience they look forward to bringing to our community.

CPCS – who we are

CPCS is a global, employee-owned management consulting group specialising in infrastructure. Through our Major Transportation Project Advisory practice, CPCS helps infrastructure leaders improve project outcomes, manage risk, strengthen governance and commercial arrangements, and deliver major transportation, utility and infrastructure projects more effectively and efficiently. Our team of engineers, sponsors, operators, former rail executives, senior programme managers, transportation planners, economists, mobility specialists, and data scientists, provides integrated commercial, technical, operational, and strategic advice on complex projects.

We advise public and private sector infrastructure owners, sponsors, operators, and delivery organisations throughout the project lifecycle. Our services span project feasibility, business case development, project requirements and specifications, procurement strategy, commercial and claims management, risk mitigation, operational planning, sponsorship, benefits realisation, and project leadership.

What sets CPCS apart is our combination of strategic advisory and practical operational expertise. Our team brings hands-on experience managing transportation assets and operations, enabling us to deliver recommendations that are strategically sound, operationally deliverable, and aligned with long-term value realisation.

With extensive experience advising on major rail and transit programmes across Great Britain, North America and internationally, CPCS has supported significant transport infrastructure investments, including major rail and transit expansions, fleet procurements, network planning initiatives, and operational improvement programmes.

Our clients include the Toronto Transit Commission, Network Rail, East West Railway Company, Transport for London, Transport Canada, TransLink, Metrolinx, VIA Rail, Caltrain, Hitachi Rail, and Amtrak.

What we’re hoping to gain from membership of the Major Projects Association

We joined the Major Projects Association to connect, collaborate, and share knowledge with others who are passionate about improving the delivery of major projects.

With expertise in transportation, power and utilities, and infrastructure, we’re particularly interested in sponsorship, governance, assurance, data & digital, commercial & financial management, and funding. We look forward to contributing our experience, learning from fellow members, and helping advance leading practices across the major projects profession.

We have developed expertise in working across multiple stakeholder groups, balancing commercial outcomes with public value, and bringing together government, industry, communities and delivery partners to unlock opportunities that no single organisation could deliver alone.

We look forward to sharing practical lessons in major project governance, portfolio management, assurance, benefits realisation and leadership, while contributing to the wider conversation on how organisations can successfully deliver complex programmes that create lasting economic, environmental and social value.

We’re pleased to welcome CPCS to the Association and look forward to their involvement in our community.
