Skills England: Annual Skills Report 2026

Skills England’s first Annual Skills Report sets out the organisation’s assessment of England’s skills system and the workforce challenges that could affect economic growth over the coming decade. The report aims to provide an evidence base for government, employers, education providers and regional partners, helping to align skills provision with labour market demand and industrial strategy priorities.

The report draws on Skills England’s new Skills Needs Assessments (SNAs), which analyse demand and supply across the eight Industrial Strategy priority sectors, alongside construction and health and social care. Combining labour market data, employer insight, education and training data, and sector-specific analysis, the assessments identify priority occupations, project future workforce demand to 2035, and examine the pathways through which learners enter key roles.
